Monitoring and Evaluation
Background
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) department at THPS plays a vital role in ensuring the effectiveness and impact of our programs. The department is responsible for:
- Monitoring key program indicators and analysing program data to assess progress.
- Conducting periodic data collection, data quality assessments (DQA), and data verification.
- Developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the THPS M&E framework, including indicator mapping.
- Providing technical assistance to program staff and building their capacity in M&E activities.
- Evaluating the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of activities in line with established objectives.
By fulfilling these functions, the M&E department ensures that our programs are achieving their goals, based on accurate and reliable data.
THPS M&E Objectives
As part of THPS program activities, M&E is used to assess the performance of all our projects and provide strategic vision, management guidance, oversight, and technical support.
Implemented Activities
The M&E department at THPS has successfully implemented several key activities to ensure data accuracy, program effectiveness, and timely reporting. These include:
- Data Quality Assurance (DQA): Regular monitoring to maintain data accuracy, completeness, reliability, relevance, and timeliness across all supported sites.
- Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting: Efficient collection and analysis of program data to support reporting and informed decision-making.
- Quarterly Program Reviews: Conducting reviews to evaluate program progress and determine the next steps for improvement.
- Technical Assistance for National Data: Providing support for national data entry and reporting forms to ensure alignment with national standards.
- Joint Supportive Supervision: Partnering with Regional/ Council Health Management Teams (R/CHMT) to support health facilities, ensuring smooth program implementation and data quality.
- Timely Data Submission to DHIS2 and CTC3: Offering technical assistance for the timely submission of data to national databases, including DHIS2 and CTC3.
- Regular Program Progress Reports: Delivering weekly and monthly reports to monitor ongoing program activities and progress.
- Electronization of Reporting Databases: Implementing electronic systems to enhance data quality for both THPS and national databases.
These activities are integral to maintaining high-quality data, improving program effectiveness, and ensuring that THPS supports national health initiatives effectively.
