Development of Electronic Sample Referral System User guide for hubs

THPS Facilitates Development of Electronic Sample Referral System User guide for hubs

MIFUMO project’s Principal Investigator, Mr. Christopher Henjewele explained, “It is anticipated that the user guide will facilitate efficient sample referral system and reduce Turnaround time (TAT) of HVL and EID results from hubs to testing laboratory and back to hubs. The eSRS system user guide will be used at over 312 hubs in Tanzania mainland. The guide is expected to be finalized by August 2021 and shared with hubs for use after the Ministry of Health, Community Development Gender, Elderly and Children’s  (MOHCDGEC) endorsement.”

THPS through CDC/PEPFAR Health Information System (HIS) MIFUMO project has developed an electronic sample referral system (eSRS) user guide to facilitate transportation of HIV viral load (HVL) and early infant diagnosis (EID) samples from hubs (where HVL and EID samples from health facilities are collected) to testing laboratories.

This activity was jointly conducted from 8th to 10th July, 2021 at Flomi Hotel in Morogoro region with the system developer from Ubunifu Solutions, and laboratory personnel from Bagamoyo District Hospital, Mkuranga District Hospital and Chalinze Health Center hubs representing users.
