Dr. Catherine Canute Joachim
Catherine is a dynamic and compassionate health system specialist with more than twenty years’ hands-on experience in management and coordination of activities pertaining both public and private health service delivery in Tanzania. Her areas of competence include Programme Management, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Resource Mobilization, Research, Human Resource Management among others. She has a strong focus on getting tangible results particularly in those related to responsive and resilient systems for health.
Catherine holds a Bachelor Degree on Human Medicine and Surgery, Postgraduate training in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and a Master of Science in Global Health Systems. While working at the Ministry of Health in Tanzania, she successful led the development and implementation of Global Fund Health Systems Strengthening Program which requires coordination between Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies and Non-State Actors. She has also led coordination of Health Sector Wide Approach in Tanzania including formulation and monitoring performance of Health Sector Strategic Plan.
Her exceptional interpersonal skills have enabled her build up strong relationships with local, regional and global organizations and also with Tanzania Health Sector Intersectoral and Multisectoral Stakeholders. Her analytical skills are cemented through her ability to visualize, gather information, articulate, analyse, solve complex problems and make decisions.
