Dr. rachel Alice Makunde
Dr. Rachel Alice Makunde (MD, MSc. Tropical Medicine) is a member of THPS Board of Directors. She is a Medical Doctor with over 22 years of professional experience in senior management roles at a public institution and international organizations working as a Senior program manager at Simavi in Tanzania, and newborn advisor at save the children International Tanzania,
She currently serves as the Executive Secretary for Tanzania National Coordinating Mechanism for Global Fund (TNMC) since October 2015 overseeing implementation of the Global Fund programs on HIV, Malaria and Tuberculosis. Dr. Rachel has an extensive experience in working as a Medical Doctor serving as In- charge of Internal Medicine Department and Medical Officer In-charge at Tanga Regional Referral Hospital for 15 years.
