Prof Racheal Manongi

Prof Racheal Manongi is a Public Health Specialist with a background of medicine working at Tumaini University, Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University Collage (KCMU College). She has served as Primary Investigator (PI) for many research studies (clinical trials and general surveys) in collaboration with local and international institutions such as Ocean Road hospital in Tanzania, the University of London School of Hygiene and topical medicine, Family Health International Research Triangle Park, USA, and Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health.

Her research interests are centered around cervical cancer prevention with the aim of reducing the burden of the disease in Tanzania, prevention of HIV acquisition among women and other groups, Maternal, Newborn, and Child health, community-based research on how to involve the communities as key stakeholders in health, postpartum depression in relation to intimate partner violence on pregnant women.  Over the years, she has authored several publications addressing healthcare needs in Tanzania.
