Dr. Appolinary Bukuku

Dr. Appolinary Bukuku is an Associate Director for Community HIV Intervention Services of the AFYA HATUA (Sustain Treatment, Enrolment, and HIV Prevention -STEP ) project- A Comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment program- comprising of facility and community interventions in Pwani, Kigoma, and Shinyanga.

 Under this role, he provides technical and managerial leadership in strategic vision, planning, activities design, guidance, budgeting, coordination, and accountability for program performance. Before this profile, he served as THPS’ Care and Treatment Technical Advisor.

Dr. Appolinary Bukuku’s areas of technical specialization include programming for comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment services, capacity building, integration of services, differentiated service delivery models, and research methods.He has over 7 years of experience in providing technical support, strategic leadership, and managing comprehensive HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs, including TB/HIV, relevant laboratory support, and supply chain management. Worked at Internation Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Program in Kigoma for four years having joined the organization as a clinical program officer, later was promoted to Clinical Advisor and Senior Clinical Advisor roles in Kigoma

Dr. Dr Appolinary Bukuku

Joined Tanzania Health Promotion Support in 2013 as a Senior Clinical Advisor, later promoted to Regional Program Manager and Care and Treatment Technical Advisor roles. He is a Doctor of Medicine, with Masters in Public Health and Business Administration
