Dr. Benedicta Masanja

Dr. Benedicta Masanja is the Chief of Party of the USAID Uhuru Tuberculosis and Family Planning Facility Solutions Activity at THPS. Under that role she serves as the primary technical and managerial lead providing strategic vision, management guidance, coordination in strategic planning and accountability for performance and results of the Activity. Prior to that she was the THPS Technical Director.

Dr. Masanja’s areas of technical specialization includes programming for comprehensive HIV care and treatment services, integration of services, differentiated service delivery models, continuous quality improvement, gender mainstreaming, global health leadership and research.

She has over 15 years of experience in management, technical and strategic leadership of health programs including HIV, TB/HIV and reproductive, maternal, child and adolescent health services. In 2003, Dr. Masanja established the first HIV clinic for pregnant women and their families as the PMTCT Plus Coordinator in Mbeya and over the years she has contributed in improving lives through her career at Family Health International (now FHI360) and Christian Social Services Commission for TUNAJALI I and II USAID funded HIV Care and Treatment programs. She holds a Masters of Medicine in Internal Medicine from Muhimbili University College of Health and Allied Sciences, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Masters of Public Health from Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, Belgium.
