Dr. Eva Matiko

Dr. Eva Matiko is the Director of Programs for Tanzania Health Promotion Support (THPS).Under this role she provides strategic vision, management guidance and oversight of THPS programs and oversee programmatic implementation and technical interventions.

Dr. Eva has over 20 years of experience in promoting investments in health for socio-economic development centred on HIV and AIDS programs with a vast experience in working with both implementing partners and donor agencies in implementation of comprehensive HIV programs in Eastern Africa.

Prior to joining THPS, Dr. Matiko worked with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Dar-es-Salaam in different positions including Prevention Program Specialist for Key Populations, Deputy Prevention Branch Chief, and Clinical Services Branch Chief. Dr Eva has also worked with Oxfam Ireland as Joint Oxfam HIV/AIDS Mainstreaming Officer and with AMREF as Project Officer.

She holds a Masters of Public Health from Columbia University and Doctor of Medicine from Muhimbili Univerity College of Health Sciences.
