Dr. Mrisho is a THPS Founder and a well renowned public health specialist in reproductive and sexual health. She served as Executive Director, Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS) for 9 years after being the Country Representative to Uganda for the UNFPA. She has also worked as the Regional Advisor Reproductive Health for UNFPA English-speaking countries based in Ethiopia; Tanzanian Ministry of Health as Director of Preventive Health Services; Faculty, Department of Community Health at Muhimbili School of Medicine UDSM. She is a Makerere University graduate, Uganda with a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health and a MSc in Human Nutrition (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK).
