The Violence Against Children Survey in Tanzania (VACS 2024) is a national survey funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). 

This survey is conducted at the household level to understand the magnitude of violence against children and its underlying risk and protective factors. In addition, this survey will provide information that will guide
strategies to identify, respond to, and prevent violence against children in the country.

As the technical lead organization, THPS collaborates with the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups in mainland Tanzania and the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children in Zanzibar. Additionally, THPS works alongside the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the Office of the Chief Government Statistician (OCGS), and UNICEF Tanzania.
