Afya Hatua is a five-year project (October 2021 – September 2026) funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The project aims to help the Government of Tanzania reach HIV epidemic control by supporting comprehensive facility and community-based HIV prevention, care, and treatment services in Kigoma, Pwani, Shinyanga, and Tanga regions.

Through this project, THPS provides comprehensive facility and community-based services, including methadone-assisted treatment (MAT), voluntary medical male circumcision, and the DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored and Safe) programme.
